(1 Corinthians 12:12-20) – Diversity and Unity.
The point here is simple. We are like a body. We have many parts, but are one body.
Christ’s oneness has been given to us through the baptism of the believer into God’s family by the Spirit of God.
But diversity has also been given to us through the distribution of unique spiritual gifts to each believer.
Each person is valuable and serves a unique purpose in God’s family. No one person is more important than another.
Just like a physical body, if any one part is missing or failing, the entire body feels the effects of it.
So all of us, in our unique giftedness, should seek to serve the Lord in that area as faithfully as we can. When we do, the whole body feels the benefits of it.
God made you who you are in the church. Embrace it, run with it, and be blessed because of it. It’s called a GIFT for a reason!
Don’t buy the lie that you aren’t valuable, that you don’t have a purpose, that God has forgotten about you. It’s just not true.
Our diversity should be celebrated and appreciated by one another. As we love one another in this process, people will see Jesus and be drawn to Him!
What’s your gift(s)? How can you bless the body with it??
