(Lamentations 3:55-66) – Our God is a God of action.
God listens intently to the cries of His people, even when they come from the deepest and lowest places.
Think about that…the same God who runs the universe takes time to listen to you and me! Think about how much value that places on you!
Not only does He listen, He also comforts. His hearing and seeing of needs compels Him to act. This is further evidenced in Jesus during His earthly ministry (Mark 6:33-44)
He acts as lawyer and advocate, working for the good of those represented by Him so that they may prosper.
He is a God of justice. He sees evil and wickedness and pursues the evildoer in their sin to bring about judgment on them.
God’s message to them could be summed up in this statement: ‘I hear you and I see you. I’m working it all out for good.’
He puts it more specifically to Jeremiah in these terms…”‘For I know the plans that I have for you’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope.'”
God is paying attention, and working in His timing. It’s all about trusting Him.
