Matthew 17

(Matthew 17) – The transfigured Christ.

Peter, James, and John got the incredible privilege of seeing Jesus in all His glory during their earthly lives. One day, all of us will behold Him exactly as He is.

But because it wasn’t time yet, Christ instructs them to not tell others about what they’d seen. Not until He rose from the dead.

Now that He has risen, we must tell everyone!

We must tell of this great King with power to cast out demons, with power to save human souls.

We must tell of this humble king, who participated in the temple tax even though He is the Son of God, the One whom the temple is for.

Such great power and humility are what draw me to this Jesus. His infinite wisdom and intimate care for sinners calls us away from darkness and into the light.

We must go and tell!
